Dr. John Rogers has served as Director of Evangelism/Prayer for the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana since August of 1999. Beginning in January 2005 he was assigned the additional responsibility as Director of Missions.
Prior to his service at the State Convention, Dr. Rogers served as Pastor of Eastlake Baptist Church in Crown Point, Indiana for over 7 years and previously pastored at Stuart Park Baptist Church in Cleveland, Tennessee, Pearl Street Baptist Chapel in New Albany, Indiana and Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Decatur, Tennessee.
He has been married to his wife Marlena since December of 2001. Dr. Rogers has two adult children by his first wife Patricia Ann, who went home to be with the Lord in December of 2000.
Dr. Rogers received a Master of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville and a ThD from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia. His dissertation was on "Adoption; The Security of the Believer."
