God’s love pierces through a mourning heart…..

This month since I have been back to campus (January 10th) There have been numerous opportunities to share my faith. One in particular came with a employee at the ball State alumni center. After having an uncle being faced with days to live, due to cancer, I was able to share about Christ and his promise to always provide a way out and to never take us through a situation alone. It was an incredible conversation where God was able to pierce through a mourning heart and a weak soul. This coversation has also led to several others about why God let's bad things happen, and why its so difficult to see him in these situations. Please pray for Denise and her family, as they prepare for her uncles sickness to worsen. Pray for God's healing power and for his gentle spirit to speak and comfort them as they question and seek answers. Pray too that He would allow us to continue speaking and provide oppoprtunities to continue to encourage her in her questions.

The homosexual and cross dressing….facing real lifestyle issues ….

There is this guy Richard who has been interacting with many people from our ministry. He came to our Thursday night meeting the night we specifically preached the gospel. I had asked three people to come to our service that night and was pretty bumbed that I didn't have anyone to fill a chair next to me. This guy, Richard, is older and is a cross dresser. He is culturally very "different" and you can tell that he is an uncomfortable person to be around. I see him around our downtown area a lot. I have even ran into him at the grocery story a lot in the last couple of months. It has been very cool because I always take time to say hi and try to have a conversation with him. I try to make him feel comfortable. And as uncomfortable as it is, I try to be very easy going so that he knows that he is "accepted by me." This is how I try to demonstrate love. After hearing the gospel on this particular Thursday, he actually approached me and asked how I was and mentioned of how powerful the message was.

At the same time, I have had difficult conversations with women in our ministry who are choosing a life of sin over the grace God offers. The girl I wrote about last week who said she and her homosexual partner where going to choose Christ took their commitment back. I have had many hard conversations with her and even spent some fun hangout time with her to show much love. But, ultimately she has decided to turn her back on the grace God offers so she could have her temporary desires fulfilled.
