Introduction

Prior to each great awakening God has called believers to reclaim prayer at the center of their lives.

The third millennium of humankind is experiencing another Divine call to prayer. People are seeing that the Great Commission cannot be completed without fervent, effective prayer. While leaders must be careful not to program prayer there is a widespread call for help with the principles of biblical prayer. The entire SBC is mobilizing to respond to this call for help through a Great Commission Prayer Ministry.

Great Commission Prayer Conferences are designed to assist believers with the training and resources needed to develop a comprehensive prayer strategy for applying the Great Commission in their congregation.

Three strategy components include:

Renewing a personal passion to pray unceasingly (1 Thess. 5:17),

Reclaiming the church as a house of prayer with a passion for lost people (Matt. 21:13 and Luke 19:10), and

Linking believers to pray for evangelism and awakening (2 Chr. 7:14).

Practical application of biblical principles about:

  • Developing effective and biblical prayer
  • Developing a comprehensive prayer ministry for your unique situation
  • Developing focused evangelistic prayer for harvesters and lost people
  • Developing prayer initiatives

Individual conferences include nationally known speakers and practitioners of biblical prayer.

Seminar topics are determined by the needs of the region and may include: Seven keys to prayer, Taking Prayer to the Streets, Spiritual warfare, Neighborhood Houses of Prayer, reclaiming a personal passion for prayer, reclaiming the church as a house of prayer with a passion for lost people, Experiencing God, Fresh Encounter, Praying for missionaries, and International call to prayer.

GCPC’s are created in cooperation with the association, State Convention, Lifeway, IMB, and WMU under the leadership of the prayer evangelism unit of  NAMB. For more information contact your state evangelism director or PE at 770 410-6333.
