Loving Las Vegas is the name of the Strategic Focus City Emphasis that
is focusing on Las Vegas during 2001. This city, where gaming is a way
of life, needs the gospel message of Christ shared in a variety of
different and meaningful ways.
Louann King is the program manager for Loving Las Vegas and she
shared several stories of how Christ is being shared to the people of
this city.During the months of May and June several special
evangelistic events took place.
The Emmanuel Baptist Church sponsored a Vacation Bible School/Day
Camp for children, youth and adults.

hold this VBS/Day Camp.

faith. This same church
held a block party where 652 people attended, 12 volunteers helped with
the block party and 22 people made professions of Faith
The Highland Hills Baptist Church sponsored Frontliners from June

The Shadow Hills Baptist Church is holding "Summer Nights at Shadow
Hills." Every Sunday night
from June 3 until August 26 they are having a different evangelistic
event. One such event was
"Beatle Mania" where they had a group impersonating the Beatles and
performing a concert. Over
900 people attended this meeting 40% of which were unchurched. That night they had 2
professions of faith and 18 more inquired about salvation. They gave
away New Testaments that they called "Beatle Bibles" with the title "Let
it be words of wisdom."
On July 1, 2002, they had a Kids Carnival where 1,200 - 1,500 people
showed up. 50% of those
attending were unchurched.
Follow up is continuing from this event.
The Spanish missions in the area are involved in Flea Market
Evangelism at the Broad Acers Flea Market. At their booth they give out
water, Jesus videos, and tracts.
They use puppets and clowns to share the gospel. From this effort the Spanish
missions have identified hundreds prospects for their work and ministry.
