THE ON MISSION CHURCH NETWORK FAMILY MISSIONS

  • Family On-Mission Night

A time for the family to be made aware of the mission, to be educated in the mission and given tools to be on mission as a family in their community and world.

 Two formats – 1) whole family doing a project together or 2) each age group (children, youth, adult) do a separate project but all three will tie in together.

 Suggested Schedule:

6:00     Dinner

6:45     General Session – why are we here, what will we be doing, what is the result/outcome; show video; give some mission education (on mission) principles

7:15     Project

7:45     General Session – wrap up/conclude/prayer time/instructions for giving the projects away to neighbors – how tos

8:00     Dismiss

 Suggested projects:

  • Give aways (cd’s, books, gift baskets, etc. to give to neighbors, or as outreach at local park)
  • Make cards or book marks for missionaries
  • Salvation bracelets
  • Prayer walks using maps of the US, Canada and other countries in the world (or see the Missionary Prayer Trail on the Church-wide Missions page).

 Other:

  • Missionaries present with their exhibits
  • Prayer stations (missionary information/prayer needs available) if no prayer walk is planned
  • Send the family home with a bible study to wrap-up or debrief the night during that next week with their family
Provide an evaluation
  • Lighthouses of Prayer  A Lighthouse of Prayer is a group of two or more believers uniting together for the purpose of intentionally praying, caring, and sharing the gospel with individuals in their neighborhood or community.
