What is it?
It is an online resource for encouraging the
spiritual transformation of regular churches into on
mission churches through church-wide mission
awareness.
What are on mission
churches?
They are spiritually awakened, continually
adjusting, evangelistically active, and passionately
advocating others to be on mission as well.
10 Characteristics of an On Mission Church
- God's glory is the ultimate goal (purpose) of the
church.
- Members are involved in the passionate worship of
God.
- The Great Commission and the Great Commandments
are prioritized.
- A balanced Acts 1:8 Mission Strategy is emphasized
and personalized.
- It is organized to be on mission through praying,
giving, knowing, and going.
- Members are made aware of mission opportunities
and are empowered to respond.
- It embraces a church-wide and year-round
commitment to mission awareness, involvement, and
partnerships.
- Resources of the church are directed toward the
Great Commission with a kingdom perspective of
personal accountability and responsibility.
- Members experience a genuine brokenness over those
who are without Christ and a sense of urgency to be
on mission as a lifestyle.
- A contagious, on mission spirit demonstrates a
congregation's commitment to assist in starting new
churches, strengthening existing churches, and
sending workers into the harvest.
What is the On Mission
Team?
An On Mission Team
is a catalytic group of growing, serving Christians
whose passion and focus is to lead the local church to
be on mission with God in reaching its community and its
world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
What is church-wide
mission awareness?
It is raising the level of a church family's
mission awareness and involvement through utilizing
existing opportunities within church family life.
What are the
opportunities a church can utilize?
Worship: Sermon outlines, video calls
to worship, dramatic readings, dramatic sketches,
missionary moments, missionary speakers.
Church-wide Special Events: 1-2 events are
available each month.
Church-wide Fellowships: 1-2 ideas for mission
awareness after-church events are available each month.
Children's Ministry Activities: MissionKids
sessions and video products drop-in mission awareness,
summer camp mission awareness ideas, children's sermons,
and ideas for special children's events are available.
Youth Ministry Opportunities: Make use of ideas
for youth worship and summer camps, lock-in plans,
special youth events, and videos.
Senior Adult Ministry Activities
Church-wide Projects: Get involved in Jerusalem
projects, Manna projects, and Missionary Connection
projects.
