Prior to this role at NAMB, Ken also served in the Church Planting Group as Senior Director of the Equipping Team, where he lead in the assessment, training and equipping of church planters and sponsoring/partnering churches; and also new church strengthening.
Ken graduated from Mississippi College, B.A., The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Master of Divinity and the Reformed Theological Seminary, Doctor of Ministry. He served as a National Missionary serving as the Nehemiah Project Director and Associate Professor of Church planting at New Orleans Baptist Seminary.
He served as the State Evangelism Director for the Tennessee Baptist Convention. Prior to that, he served as a church planting missionary in West Tennessee. Also, Ken was the founding Pastor of the Douglas Avenue Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Ken was born in Jackson, Mississippi. He is married to Belva Kennedy Weathersby from Charleston, South Carolina. They have a daughter, Kenyeta, who is a freshman at South Carolina State University. They also have a son, Breon, who is a freshman at Parkview High School. Ken enjoys playing sports such as basketball, softball and golf.
